Brightsquid Secure-Mail for Dentrix Simplifies Email Compliance

E-mail is a problem in most dental practices for two reasons:

Transmission of patient data using regular email (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) does not comply with HIPAA standards.

Compliance and easy communications
Brightsquid Secure-Mail for Dentrix lets you easily email patients, colleagues, experts, and labs from the Dentrix toolbar. Send secure e-mails to individual patients from the Dentrix family of files, or bulk send messages to your entire patient base.

Dentrix fills in patient fields in secure email and automatically appends the appropriate files. You can use Dentrix’s Secure-Mail without having to change your practice e-mail address. It will send notification to the recipient’s email through your regular email. The recipient then logs in to secure mail to see your secure mail.

Brightsquid Secure-Mail for Dentrix handles large attachments up to 500MB per message. Instead of sending many smaller files, a message can contain the entire patient file.

Secure mail messages use AES 256-bit encryption to encrypt all messages on the server and RSA 2048-bit encryption to messages in transit. All communications are kept for 10 years and backed up automatically. The secure mail server also periodically reviews HIPAA compliance.
